Do you need help to lose weight?The Top Tips app was developed by researchers at University College London to help you form healthy eating habits and lose weight.Top Tips contains information on simple tips that can be built into your daily routine. The tips help you to take in fewer calories and burn more energy.Forming healthy habits can be easy. A habit is something you do automatically, like tying your shoelaces or brushing your teeth. Habits are formed when you do something over and over again in the same place or at the same time. Getting into a routine and practising the healthy tips every day, helps turn them into healthy habits.
Using the Top Tips app:Start reading the information about each of the target behaviours and on how to form habits and make context specific plans. Enter your own plans for how you are going to fit each tip into your daily routine and don’t forget to save your plans. You can always edit your plans if necessary. Repeat the tips at the same time and in the same place. This makes it more likely that you will form habits. Keep track of how you are doing using the ‘logging’ page. Weigh yourself regularly and enter your weight in kg using the ‘logging’ page. You may already be doing some of the tips – this is great, keep it up.Check your weekly progress. The Top Tips app can also assist you with your food shopping as it provides a food labelling guide.
